Protect Your Credentials
In today’s digital world, your passwords and login information are the keys to your financial security. Unfortunately, scammers are constantly coming up with new ways to trick people into giving away personal information. That’s why it’s more important than ever to protect your credentials.
Keep Your Credentials Private
Your passwords, online banking ID, PIN, and secure access codes should never be shared. Scammers often pose as trusted institutions to gain access to your accounts. They may call, text, or email you, pretending to be a representative to gather your personal details.
Simple Ways to Stay Secure
Here are some basic but powerful ways to keep your accounts protected:
- Use strong, unique passwords for each account and update them regularly.
- Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for extra security whenever possible.
- Don’t click suspicious links or download unexpected attachments from texts or emails.
- Never share your login credentials, even with people you trust.
Remember
Canyon View Credit Union will NEVER call, text, or email you asking for your full Social Security number, secure access code, online ID and password, or PIN. If someone contacts you requesting this information, it’s a scam. Hang up, don’t respond, and contact us directly.
What to Do If You Think You’ve Been Scammed
Scams can happen to anyone. If you believe you’ve shared personal or account information with a scammer:
- Stop all contact immediately with the suspected scammer.
- Report the fraud to Canyon View CU right away at 801-481-8800.
